There are people who have never seen " Umberto D. (1952) by Vittorio De Sica but who have heard speak. Surely their head the idea that it is an intimate film, which is partly true (left to see the meaning given to the word intimate ). But do not imagine that "Umberto D." is certainly the film in which the great place that is Rome longer exists, not only as a minute projection in which it appears, but as a great diversity of places in the uniqueness of place and how corrisponenze that are established between the places and episodes.
The initial part of the film, with the pensioners' protest calling for the increase in their meager pensions, takes place in the center Rome, Piazza dei Santi Apostoli area near Palazzo Odescalchi . Attention is paid mainly by De Sica gives us a sense of Rome that we know little: the Rome ministerial offices and more than AS Roma travel. The three pictures are from the arrival of the procession into the square. Ma il pensionato a cui propone l'affare lo guarda meravigliato e gli dice di no, andandosene in fretta per conto suo. In quasi tutte le immagini c'è la presenza della città di Roma. Sottilmente, è una presenza che cambia immagine per immagine, e così sarà per tutto il film. 
Umberto has missed the opportunity, but not discouraged. Search another senior who can sell the watch. What I find is more rude than before, but Umberto understand you might be interested.
