OTHER SCHOOL PROJECT

Abstract

The "Other School" was born with the intent of responding to those needs training and education that currently the public school fails to meet. We refer in particular to those students that learning difficulties, poor motivation or because they suffer from a situation of cultural deprivation and educational failure are intended to fuel the phenomenon known as school leavers.
The public school, as it is now organized, tends more to ratify the differences in cultural rather than fill the gaps. In addition, the prevailing logic in teaching favors more individualism and competition that cooperation, to the detriment of the weakest.

• Colloquio conoscitivo di carattere generale con lo studente e la sua famiglia aiming at a first acquaintance, on reconstruction of the school curriculum and identifying the skill / difficulty of the student;
• Placement test to ascertain your knowledge of the teaching modules to address and evaluate the study skills;
• Construction of a educational and learning to share with family and the student, emerged from the data in the initial interview and tests in the entrance test;
• Signing of a training agreement between the different parties (parents, students, teachers) that engages the different actors in the pursuit of the objectives identified in the project;
• Application of methodologies educational and teaching consistent with the objectives and the ability / inability of the student (metacognitive teaching and small group level);
• Constant monitoring of the route through processes of ongoing evaluation and documentation of the construction of the trail.
• Final evaluation of the results (test out)

WHY WE DO

The central aim of the project is to give an answer to a need for ethics training and education that today is not met by public schools. The weeks of recovery now in use in high schools, appear to be almost completely ineffective in bridging gaps that often have deep roots (inequalities of cultural heritage, shortcomings in teaching methods, lack of motivation in the study or real learning difficulties).
In practical terms, to an ethical response is to offer quality service at an affordable cost for families. On the other hand, the association has the aim to provide opportunities for discussion and enrichment for teachers involved in the project, supervised by pedagogical and moments of self-training.

PARTNERS

Project "Other School" aims to promote its initiatives, moving in a logical system and network. This means that the project aims at involving various public and private actors concerned with the aims of the project, in the territory.
